What is "As Addictive as Drugs" for You?
h/t to pNut for sending me this link, knowing I would find the premise patently obvious.
So far as I'm concerned, the best foods in life exist as a vehicle for melted cheese. Even when I'm focused on weight loss (and recently lost 10 lbs by cutting portions in half until I hit my goal) cheese, preferably gooey and melted, has to be included in my diet. A giant plate of steamed vegetables rocks so long as I can melt even just an ounce of good cheese over it. I can eat less of it; what I can't do is not eat it at all. Ever.
or an egg poached in salsa with Mexican cheese mix melted over it?
The only thing that's better than cheese? Potatoes and cheese, which combine to create a nutritionally complete meal. You didn't think the astronaut in The Martian could live on potatoes alone? Well I could, so long as there's (say it with me) cheeeeeeese on top!
Don't even get me started on the best Mac'n'cheese recipe. It has to have three cheeses at the bare minimum to be worth the effort. Although I will confess that in a cheese drought I'll gladly scarf down the Kraft boxed stuff. Such is the power of my addiction.
In Chinese medicine they say you should feed your ancestors, meaning that if your ancestors are Italian your body is 'programmed' to eat a Mediterranean diet. I understand if your body type can't process cheese; you just weren't built that way. I'm Irish/Welsh/English with a bit of Viking marauder thrown in, and so I don't fight it. Cheese loves me and I love it. Cheesy at it sounds, I just gotta have it.
What are you addicted to that's good for you (in moderation)?
What do you absolutely crave to feel good?

Drool, baby, drool
